YouTube launches careers

Youtube is launching careers everywhere. From music to gaming, Youtube has created a platform for anyone with the right ideas to start a business.

Not only does Youtube provide a wide audience for exposure, but also it allows contributors to put ads on their videos and make money. Ads on videos are all done through Youtube partnership programs. The top ten highest paid Youtube partners are all making over $100,000 a year from video ads alone. The highest paid person on Youtube, having over 1.8 million subscribers and over 361.5 million video views, makes $315,000 a year. If Youtube likes the uploaded material and the contributor owns the rights to what he is putting out, they are happy to sign a partnership with him.

Matty B, a 9-year old rapper, opened his channel 2 years ago and currently has over 660,000 subscribers. His cover of Justin Bieber’s hit song “Boyfriend,” uploaded in April of this year, has over 42 million views. Matt says there’s no key to making a viral video. “Making a ‘viral video’ is not about making a video you think will gain a lot of views. It’s about capturing and creating a moment in time and inviting others to experience it with you,” he said.

Mars, also a rapper on Youtube, has over 180,000 subscribers to his channel. Mars said, “My dream over the last five years has been to be a successful musician/artist, and Youtube has been a unique way to streamline the traditional process of ‘making it’ in the music industry.” Mars said that Youtube has made it easy for him to gain exposure and make money while doing what he loves.

Keith Steinbach, known as BebopVox, has over 125,000 subscribers by just playing video games. His Minecraft parodies and videos have over 17 million hits. Steinbach said, “Youtube has helped me achieve my goals by being able to continue my video editing hobby, dream, and love for the business.” Steinbach said that some people believe Youtube is only a platform for musicians and artists, but this isn’t true. It’s a creative way for anyone to pursue his dream.

Musicians, comedians, and even gamers are getting hundreds of thousands of subscribers and making profitable businesses for themselves. With enough creativity and skill, a business in Youtube is possible.
