Cross country teams place first and second at county championship

At the Fayette County Championships at Inman Elementary on Saturday, October 3, the girls varsity team placed first and the boys varsity team placed second.

For the boys, sophomore Connor Kosevic and senior Alan Bowers placed fifth and sixth with times of 17:48.66 and 18:09.40. Seniors Xander Wilson and Nathan Stembridge placed tenth and eleventh with times of 18:31.46 and 18:32.70. Freshman Zach Jaeger finished twelfth with a time of 18:40.23. Sophomores Vladimir Zander-Velloso, McKay Moore, and John Karafanda also finished in the top twenty. The one team that beat them, Whitewater, is a 4A school and as such will not compete with McIntosh for the state title.

In the varsity girls race, senior Alyssa LeClaire finished first with a time of 20:49.88, followed closely by second-place junior Rachel Ward, who ran a 21:41.18. Sophomore Brianna Sattinger finished fourth with a 22:26.31 and sophomore Lily Sullivan finished sixth with a time of 22:52.59. Junior Kayla Hort and freshmen Sofia Lopez and Emma Murray also placed in the top twenty.
