On January 28, the annual school-wide Poetry Out Loud recitation contest will take place in the McIntosh auditorium immediately following school release, and admission is free.
Students first had to perform for their English class, and their teacher recommended them to move forward. Students will be judged not only on memorization, but also physical presence, voice and articulation, dramatic appropriateness, level of difficulty, evidence of understanding and overall performance. The poems that students will be reciting all come from the Poetry Out Loud site.
