Senior Andrew Pinckney was awarded with Athlete of the week.

Pinckney has been playing baseball for 15 years. He is also a four-year varsity letterman for baseball and a three-year varsity letterman for basketball at McIntosh. He spends about 12 to 15 hours a week playing for the Chiefs baseball team.

Pinckney described his most memorable moments on the team as “Hitting the home run off of the school against Starrs’ Mill.”

Pinckney has committed to play for The University of Alabama next year on an athletic scholarship. ¨Baseball has given me the opportunity to compete everyday and be a part of a team,¨ said Pinckney. “Which is something greater than me.¨

Pinckney hopes to improve his consistency as a hitter, as well as his power in his hits in his last season as a McIntosh Chief.

Pinckney will most miss competing against school rival, Starrs’ Mill. “Those games are so exciting and meaningful,” said Pinckney.
