At the cross country state championship, junior Vladimir-Zander Velloso (Vladi) and freshman Megan Uszynski both placed in the top ten in their races.

Vladi, who placed tenth, was the first boy from McIntosh in four years to place in the top ten in the state championship. He finished with a 5k time of 17:23. Megan, who placed second overall, ran a time of 20:02. Both athletes were invited to race at the Meet of Champions on Saturday,  Nov. 12 at Heritage Christian Church. Vladi finished fourty-sixth and ran a 16:40 and Megan finished twenty-third with a time of 19:00.

After the race, Vladi said, “It was a great end to a great season. Next year our team will be deeper than ever, and with McIntosh’s amazing talent, we’re sure to win the state championship.”
