My hot take on this week’s hashtags? The Smurf cat is actually really cute. It’s so interesting when people take animated characters and make them look realistic. The creator, artist Nate Hallinan, wondered what a Smurf and a cat would look like mixed together, and now a decade later, the internet is obsessed.

Ice Spice is getting her own Dunkin Donuts pumpkin spice Munchkins drink. The rapper did a commercial promoting the drink, featuring actor Ben Affleck (or as I like to call him: J-Lo’s husband). We need an Ice Spice “You thought I was feeling you” Munchkin because that would compliment the drink so good.

The MTV Video Music Awards premiered on Tuesday and the celebs there really showed up and showed out. Nicki Minaj was this year’s host and also performed some of her hits along with a teaser of her upcoming album, “Pink Friday 2,” scheduled to be released on November 17, 2023.

Apparently, people have had negative things to say about Selena Gomez’s relatable reactions at the award show and Gomez clapped back and made sure to make it clear that the internet will not make her a laughing stock again.

Taylor Swift was all of us when she won the award for “Best Pop” and it was presented to her by the iconic boy band, *NSYNC. Shortly after, the group announced that they would be releasing a new song since 2001. Let’s run this record up when it comes out y’all because it’ll tear up my heart if they go into hibernation for another decade. Swift was also the topic of convos, not only for the vibes she was giving while artists were performing but for, her tying the record for most awards won in one night.

The show wrapped with performances from LL Cool J, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Grandmaster Flash and Doug E. Doug for Hip Hop’s fiftieth anniversary. Wayne also performed his song “Mrs. Officer” for Vice President Kamala Harris’s Hip Hop 50 celebration. There was a bit of controversy about the choice of the song due to Harris’s history of over-policing in her years as attorney general but she was jamming that day.

Now follow this: My favorite creator of the week is @yourfavoriesteppers. They are a dancing stepping organization for young women ages 4-18 offering life lessons and community to their steppers. Their coach has gone viral multiple for her stern yet loving teaching methods.
