Chiefs Baseball head into the Playoffs

The Chiefs baseball team will be going into the first round of the state playoffs at home against the South Effingham Mustangs. The Chiefs are coming into the tournament as a region runner up, meaning they will play the first playoff game at McIntosh.

Last year, the Chiefs had a disappointing tournament run, as they got swept in the first round to the Ola Mustangs.

“We’re looking to show the state that we’re serious contenders, and that starts with Effingham,” senior second basemen Ricky Alaimo stated. “It’s imperative that we stick it to [South Effingham] so that we get some momentum for the rest of the season.”

The first two games of the series will be played Wednesday, April 24. The first game starts at 5:00 the second game immediately follows. If necessary, the final game of the three-game series will be at 5:00 on Thursday.
