Girl’s track team wins Fayette County championship

The girl’s track team placed first at the Fayette County Championship meet on March 23. They beat the second place team, Fayette County High School, 17 points.

Seniors Alyssa LeClair, Nicole Zaubi, Carson Silbert and Ngozi Chukwueke and juniors Lauren Shelfo and Rachel Ward contributed to the team’s victory by placing first and second in many events.

Ngozi placed second in the 100 meter hurdles, fourth in the 300 meter hurdles, fifth in long jump and fourth in triple jump.

Carson won pole vault with a vault of eight feet. Nicole Zaubi won the 3200 meter race and placed second in the mile race.

Alyssa won both of her individual races: the mile and the 800 meter race. The 4×400 meter relay team also placed first.
