The Asian Champions League ended Nov. 1 as the Western Sydney Wanderers drew 0-0 with Al-Hilal. The Asian Champions League has a two-legged final.
Western Sydney Wanderers won 1-0 at home in Parramatta, Australia, because of a Tomi Jurić goal. After they drew in Saudi Arabia, they were crowned champions after winning 1-0 on aggregate.
This was the first time an Australian team has won the Asian Champions League. Sophomore Matthias Von Zeier said, “It was an impressive victory, especially since Al-Hilal has so much money to spend on players. Junior Denver Williams said, “It’s amazing that a team founded two years ago could win the Asian Champions League.”
