Quill & Scroll, International Journalism Honor Society

Quill & Scroll, the International Journalism Honor Society, has had a charter at McIntosh High School since 1987.

Members must be juniors or seniors

Be in the upper third of their classes academically

Must have done superior work in some phase of journalism (The McIntosh Trail, the Legend yearbook, or MisChief Literary Magazine)

Must be recommended by the adviser governing the publication.

 

When a candidate is recommended for membership, they pay a one-time initiation fee, with national dues being $25 and local dues being $10. The Society then provides the initiate with an official membership pin, membership certificate, graduation honor cord, and a one-year subscription to Quill & Scroll magazine.

Only those who have turned in completed forms and paid the fee will be initiated. Checks can be made out to McIntosh High School. Inductees must be present at the Induction ceremony, otherwise, they will not be inducted.
