Baseball field needs new drainage system
Mar 9, 2015
Baseball has begun a great season with a five win and one loss record. However, what does not fit the team’s great season is their unfortunate field.
On rainy days, the field becomes sopping wet, and although the grounds crew does its best to keep the field dry, the field still gets flooded.
Therefore, the field needs a an improved drainage system. The field can try sand-based drainage. The sand helps prevent water from seeping through the field unevenly in order to prevent large puddles on the surface of the field.
Sophomore Chase Martaus said, “After it rains, we cannot go on the field for a couple days, which is really bad for preparing for our season.”
Sophomore Christophe Senghor said, “A new drainage system would be essential for our season because rain prevents us from doing anything on the baseball field, despite the parents’ best efforts to drain the field.”
