Seniors need to prepare for exit; underclassmen need to prepare for summer

As the school year ends, students need to take care of several items. For seniors, saving emails before their fcboe.org accounts are closed and purchasing yearbooks are important. For underclassmen, preparing for summer school and obtaining drivers’ licenses may be on the top of their lists. Students should check the items listed below and plan accordingly. (The following information was sent to parents in newsletter.)

TUTORING:

Beta Club offers peer tutoring every morning in the media center from 8:05 a.m. to 8:35 a.m. Students are available to tutor in math, science, world languages, social studies, English, and organizational skills.

SENIORS’  EMAIL:

If have any information on your FCBOE Email that you will need for future reference, please be sure to SAVE the information to your own PERSONAL email or PERSONAL computer.  This is the link to the website with directions for doing that:  https://goo.gl/fH1yFb.

Your FCBOE Email address will no longer be accessible after May 22, the last day of school.

 

PARKING:

Parking permits for SY 2015-16 will be on sale for ALL students on Friday, May 29 from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.  The applications are available for students to pick up outside of the bookkeeper’s office.  The applications need to be completed and signed by both the student and parent and submited on that Friday with the payment and a driver’s license and/or permit.  The cost is $60 for cars and $40 for golf carts.  Only upcoming juniors and seniors may purchase car permits.

 END OF YEAR MEDICATION DISPOSAL:

If a student has medication in the clinic, it must be picked up by 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 22.  All medication that is left in the clinic will be disposed of after that time.   The student may pick up any over-the-counter medications.   All prescription medication needs to be picked up by the parent/guardian or arrangements made with the nurse, Nancy Zaj, RN.   Neither medication nor administration permissions carry over to the next school year.   This will have to be re-instated with new forms and medication bottles at the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year.   The preferred method to contact the nurse is by email:   [email protected].    You can contact by phone: 770-631-3232 ext 265, but may have to leave a message.

 BETA CLUB:

Beta Club:    Beta club induction for new members will be next fall .  We will send out invitations at the beginning of the school year.  If you have any questions please feel free to email Mrs. Chaffin @ [email protected] .

If you are currently in Beta Club or feel you will be invited to join in the fall, please feel free to complete service hours over the summer.  You can find the hour sheet on the McIntosh website under clubs (tally sheet).  You will need 10 hours for fall semester.

 SPARK:

Students interested in being a part of SPARK, the McIntosh chapter of Students Against Destructive Decisions ( SADD ) should plan to attend an organizational meeting in room 111 on at 3:45 p.m., Wednesday, May 6.

 

YEARBOOK :

Chick-fil-a Contact Ms. Edwards if you wish to purchase a yearbook. Books will be distributed first at the Senior Banquet and then to underclassmen. Be part of The Legend !

 

CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE:

Students with summer birthdays may request their Certificates of Attendance the week of exams in order to have them for the summer. Requests can be made in the front office. Students getting their driver’s licenses will also need to request their ADAP certificates. The fee for the Certificate of Attendance is $2.00.
