Tomorrow, Tuesday April 23, the academic team will have a “Battle of the Brains”, which is a competition between teachers and the academic team. English teacher Lynne Bruschetti will be coordinating the event.

“We’re having a fundraiser for the national team because McIntosh High School’s academic team was selected to participate in the nationals competition in Atlanta,” said Raghav Ratkalkar, an academic team member.

The academic team will face a panel of teachers who will take on the academic team. Both sides will answer a few rounds of questions that cover a variety of topics like geography, politics, science and literature. Academic team is for students who are interested in a wide range of academic topics.

“I joined [the academic team] because I liked trivia questions already and I participated in the math bee, english bee, spelling bee, stuff like that. So, I saw academic team and I realized that it was something similar, and I feel like it’s just a great way to show your academic talents and you make some good friends in there too,” Ratkalkar said.

The competition will be in the cafeteria, and it will start at 8 P.M., and tickets are $2.

“Come check [the competition] out, if you want to, in the cafeteria if you want to support our cause,” Ratkalkar said.
