Students receive honors for accomplishments

Honor’s Night was held Monday, May 5.

In order to recognize the accomplishments of McIntosh’s student body in the past year, the school held its annual  Honors Night on May 5.

Hundreds of students were awarded and heartily applauded for a variety of academic and extracurricular achievements in the two-hour-long ceremony. Local organizations presented scholarships to seniors that evening as well.

The night opened with the appointments of seniors Haley Holliman and Airyn Nash to the United States Military Academy at West Point and of senior Erika Berg to the United States Merchant Marine Academy. These announcements were followed by the announcement of ROTC scholarships, local scholarships and recognition for groups and individuals.

To close the ceremony, Ms. Lisa Fine recognized the STAR student and teacher (Sue Liang and Shery Kearney) and the valedictorian and salutatorians (Jacob Wilson is valedictorian and Sue Liang and Airyn Nash tied for salutatorian) for the graduating class.
