End of the year schedule released for seniors

The class of 2014 will soon file onto the field as did members of the class of 2013, pictured above, marking their transition from high school to college or the work-field.

The graduation countdown has officially hit less than one month, and the class of 2014 is busy preparing to make the transition from high school to college or the work force.

An end of the year timeline of events regarding graduation is seen below.

Honors Night will be held in the auditorium on Monday, May 5 at 7:00 p.m..

Seniors will pick up their cap and gown in the senior cafeteria on Tuesday, May 6 during lunch. Students with obligations and unpaid dues will not be able to pick up their cap and gown. Seniors will also receive the status of their exam exemptions via Infinite Campus and will be given forms as well.

The Senior Banquet and yearbook distribution will be held in the cafeteria on Monday, May 12 at 6:00 p.m..

Senior exemption forms will be due to first period teachers by Tuesday, May 13.

Thursday, May 15 is the last official day for seniors. At 9:49 a.m., lockers will be cleaned out, and at 6:00 p.m., a senior assembly will be held in the auditorium.

Senior obligations are due to Ms. Arlene Law in the front office by Friday May 16  by 9:00 a.m. Senior exams in English, math and science will take place this day. Additionally, May 16 serves erving as the last day to order final transcripts through the guidance department. Transcripts are $3 and will be placed in the graduation folders to be picked up after graduation.

On Monday, May 19, social studies and remaining exams will be taken.

On Monday, May 20, at 10:00 a.m., baccalaureate practice will be at Flat Creek Baptist Church located at 161 Flat Creek Trail in Fayetteville. At 6:00 p.m., seniors will return to Flat Creek Baptist Church in order to attend the baccalaureate service, which is a non-denominational religious service that honors graduates.

On Wednesday, May 21 at 10:00 a.m., seniors will have their first mandatory graduation practice. Students are asked to report to the auditorium through the gym. Students not at the practice will be removed from the graduation line-up and will be unable to walk at graduation.

During graduation practice, school dress code will be enforced.

The 2014 class sponsors Ms. Mia Davis and Ms. Nancy Huntley will hold a senior breakfast on Thursday, May 22 at 9:30 a.m.. At 10:00 a.m., seniors will have their second mandatory graduation practice.

A tentative graduation practice is scheduled for Friday, May 23. If additional practice is required, students will be notified and attendance will be mandatory.

The graduation ceremony will be held on Friday, May 23 at 7:00 p.m. Seniors are asked to report to their designated classroom by 6:00 p.m.. Female attire for graduation and baccalaureate should be a lightweight dress, skirt or slacks (no jeans) and blouse with dress shoes with little to no heel recommended. Male attire for graduation and baccalaureate should be a white shirt, dark tie, dark dress pants (no jeans) and dark dress shoes.

In the case of severe weather on Friday, the ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 24 at 10:00 a.m.
