The Grammy nominations are out. With SZA, Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish and a lot more, here are the 2024 big four Grammy nominations. 

Record of the Year:

Billie Eilish – What Was I Made For? [From the Motion Picture “Barbie”]

Boygenius – Not Strong Enough

Miley Cyrus – Flowers

Olivia Rodrigo – Vampire

SZA – Kill Bill

Taylor Swift – Anti-Hero

Victoria Monét – On My Mama

 

Freshman Eden Lindberg thinks “What Was I Made For [From The Motion Picture ‘Barbie’]” should win record of the year. 

“I think it should win because it’s a very emotional and well-written song,” Lindberg said. 

 

Album of the Year:

Janelle Monáe – The Age of Pleasure

Jon Batiste – World Music Radio

Lana Del Rey – Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd

Miley Cyrus – Endless Summer Vacation

Olivia Rodrigo – Guts

SZA – SOS

Taylor Swift – Midnights

 

Lindberg thinks Midnights should win album of the year. 

“Taylor Swift is a great artist and I want her to be record breaking. I want her to continue to be record breaking,” Lindberg said.

Freshman Trisha Flores thinks Kill Bill should win song of the year. 

“Kill Bill is a good song. I like it. It’s very catchy,” Flores said.

Freshman Phoenix Manley thinks Ice Spice should win best new artist. 

“She has catchy music and it’s fun to listen to. It makes you want to dance to it. You just feel good when you listen to it,” Manley said. 

Freshman Eden Lindberg thinks Taylor Swift should sweep the grammys.

“I think she’s very talented and I want her to be remembered as a record breaker,” Lindberg said.

Freshman Phoenix Manley agrees and thinks Taylor Swift will sweep the grammys.

“I would love for SZA to, but I think Taylor will still sweep,” Manley said.

Anthony Capobianco
Anthony Capobianco is a rookie to journalism but not to writing. Capobianco has written an entire novel that he’s planning to publish, two movies he hopes to finish in the future and is working on a new book with one of his best friends. Although he specializes in fiction, don’t doubt his nonfiction capabilities. Capobianco wants to pursue a career in writing and directing films. As mentioned, he has already written two. One was based on a book and one was made up from himself. Capobianco’s favorite hobbies are reading and writing. His favorite books are “One of Us Is Lying” and “Truly Devious.” His favorite genres are horror, realistic fiction, mystery and biographies. Capobianco wanted to do Journalism because he wanted to try out different writing and he thought it was very interesting. He thinks that writing based on people’s speech and just news all around is extremely needed because people have voices and need to be heard. Capobianco plans to utilize his experience in writing for journalism.
