The boys team made seven new personal records as well as sophomore, Cole Rueff who ran 17:18 at his second race ever and first-year on the team.
“Everyone’s been doing so good. [Cole is,] a year older than me ran like a 17. I’m so proud of my peers,” Rachel Meyer (9) said.
Senior Jayden Harvey ran a 21:38 in the Girls Varsity 5000 meter run and placed 58th overall.
“[My race] went pretty good. I did good for the start of the season. I want to beat my [personal record,] and I’ll do that by running everyday,” Harvey said.
The Chiefs will race next on Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Warpath Invitational in Canton, Georgia.
“I’m kind of pumped, kind of excited. I just want the whole team to make it to state this year. We can do that by working together, running together and continuing to work hard,” senior Logan Palmer said.
