Wrestling

The Georgia High School Association posted on X, “Due to possible inclement weather arriving into north Georgia Friday, the Georgia High School Association is providing alternative dates for region/area dual wrestling tournaments. All GHSA wrestling programs are permitted to move dates to earlier this week, allowing school the opportunity to utilize a plus one allowance to schools that move their tournaments before Friday. If your Region/Area is moving the event, the host should notify all schools ASAP, concerning the change of date and the +1 allowance.”

Basketball

Today, Thurs.Jan.9, the JV Girls Basketball team will play against Langston Hughes high school at 4:30 P.M. at McIntosh. The Varsity Girls Basketball team will have a home game against Langston Hughes high school at 6:00 P.M. The Varsity Boys will play against Langston Hughes at 7:30 P.M. at McIntosh as well.

Dance

The dance competition at Whitewater High School was cancelled due to incoming inclement weather, according to the statement released by the Fayette County Board of Education on Thurs. Jan. 9.

Grace Lovejoy is serving as the Editor-In-Chief for the 2025-2026 school year. This year Lovejoy is a senior and this is her fourth year on the Trail staff. Last year, Lovejoy and other editors traveled to Philadelphia for the National Scholastic Press Association’s Fall Convention. Lovejoy has won 3 Best of SNO pieces, including her first piece “Collision course: teens and golf cart accidents in Peachtree City” which was the first for the Trail.  Lovejoy has been involved in theater for 3 years and has performed and worked backstage on numerous shows. This year she is serving as the Vice President of the Ambassadors club.  Lovejoy is eager to meet the new staff and have another successful year on the Trail.
