Weekly Sports Roundup

This week, in McIntosh athletics, games, tournaments and tryouts are ahead.

Basketball:

This week, the varsity teams have a total of six games. On Tuesday, Dec. 10, the boys and girls team had a home game against Newnan High School. On Friday, Dec. 13, both of the varsity teams have games against Dutchtown High School. These games will take place at Dutchtown. The girl’s game starts at 6:00 p.m. and the boys’ game starts at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, Dec. 14, both the boy’s and girl’s have games against The Heritage School. These games are away at Whitewater High School. The girl’s game starts at 9:00 a.m. and the boys’ game starts at 10:30 a.m.

The JV teams have a total of five games this week. On Tuesday, Dec. 10, the girl’s team had a home game against Newnan High School. On Wednesday, Dec. 11, the boy’s and girl’s team has a home game against LaGrange High School. The boy’s game starts at 6:00 p.m. and the girl’s game starts at 7:30 p.m. On Friday, Dec. 13, the girl’s team has a game against Dutchtown High School. This game will take place at Dutchtown High School and will start at 4:30 p.m. The boys team also has a game this Friday. They will go against Starr’s Mill. This game starts at 5:45 p.m. and will take place at Starr’s Mill High School.

The freshman boys team has a total of three games this week. On Tuesday, Dec. 10, they had an away game against Starr’s Mill. This game was going to be held at Starr’s Mill High School but got canceled due to weather damaging the roof. On Wednesday, Dec. 11, they had a home game against LaGrange High School. This game will start at 4:30 p.m. On Friday, Dec. 13, they have another game against Starr’s Mill. This game will take place at Starr’s Mill High School at 4:30 p.m.

Dance:

The McIntosh dance team will be competing in the War Eagle Warm Up at South Forsyth High School this Saturday, Dec. 14. They will perform at 9:00 a.m.

Track and Field:

The McIntosh track team starts on Monday, Jan 27. From Dec 1 to Jan 27 is voluntary conditioning. On Jan, 27 practice starts, the first meet will be on Feb 13.

Swim:

The McIntosh swim team has a meet at Adairsville High School for the Whoville Invitational, on Dec. 14 . The meet starts at 10:00 am. They will arrive at the school at 6:30 a.m. and take a bus to the meet.

CJ Boxhill
CJ Boxhill, Multimedia
CJ Boxhill is a junior at McIntosh and is serving his first year on staff as a part of the Multimedia team. He plans to focus on helping people share their experiences and public speaking opportunities. Boxhill is a current member of the Spirit of McIntosh Marching Band, he serves a leadership role as percussion logistics in the band. He also serves as the Vice President of the Skills USA club. Boxhill has won two Rookie Of The Year awards and also two Student Choice awards. Boxhill made silver academic recognition these past two years. He is also a McIntosh ambassador. Boxhill has been working at Chick-Fil-A for the past six months and serves as a team member there. When Boxhill is not working or at school he enjoys playing video games or hanging out with his friends. He is very interested in politics and law. Boxhill is the last of his family to attend McIntosh High School, his sister Davian and Cousins Katrina and Chris have all attended McIntosh. One of his biggest goals in life is to be elected as a future President of the United States.
Allie Hartman
Allie Hartman, Staff
Allie Hartman is a freshman at McIntosh and this is her first year on the Trail Staff.  In middle school, Hartman has received a lot of academic achievements. She was on honor roll for 2 years straight and was part of Beta Club. Her favorite places to volunteer are The Midwest Food Bank and Clothes Less Traveled. Hartman was also part of the Booth Yearbook Staff. Hartman enjoys reading and writing. She has read 32 books this past year. In addition, she likes to bake and listen to music. Hartman’s favorite dessert to bake are snickerdoodles. Her favorite artists are Madison Beer, Faye Webster, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Laufey and Taylor Swift. Outside of school, Hartman likes playing tennis with her sister and hanging out with her friends. She is excited to get to know the staff and learn more about journalism.
Cari Heinonen
Cari Heinonen, Staff
Cari Heinonen is a freshman at McIntosh and this is her first year on the Trail Staff. She plans to focus on photography and writing. Heinonen holds membership in Beta club and the National Thespian Society. She is also a part of McIntosh’s color guard program and dances at the Peachtree City School of Dance.  In Heinonen’s free time, she enjoys reading and listening to music.
Gabriel Adams
Gabriel Adams, Staff
Gabriel Adams is a sophomore at Mcintosh and a new addition to The Trail’s staff. Adams competed in The Law’s Of Life event and he has future plans to achieve the world title in the UFC (Ultimate Fighter Championship).    Until then he practices Muay Thai, reads, mountain bikes and hangs out with friends. His approach to Journalism is both insightful and straightforward. His desire is to keep informed of the events that impact our way of life.
