#1 McIntosh Boys Varsity Soccer wins state championship

Undefeated Chiefs play Decatur on Thursday

2023-2024 Playoff Bracket from the GSHA.

The McIntosh Chiefs Varsity Soccer team have stayed undefeated throughout the 2024-2025 soccer season. The Chiefs have stayed undefeated with a score of 20-0.

On April 14, The Varsity Boys played their first round the GHSA playoffs and won 6-0 over Dutchtown High School.

On April 24, they played their second round and won 2-1 against Cross Keys. The team moved on to the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Quarterfinals on April 30.

The Chiefs ended up winning the Quarterfinals against Dalton High School 1-0.

On May 3, The Chiefs competed in the Final Four against their last year’s Elite eight rival, Midtown High School. The Chiefs won their game 2-1.

The Varsity team will now move on to the GHSA State Championship against Decatur High School, on May 9, at 7:30 PM, at Duluth High School.

Grace Lovejoy, Editor-in-Chief

Grace Lovejoy is serving as the Editor-In-Chief for 2024-2025 school year. Lovejoy has been on staff for three years now and served as the Features Editor last year. Lovejoy has won 3 Best of SNO pieces, including her first piece “Collision course: teens and golf cart accidents in Peachtree City” which was the first for the Trail. Lovejoy has been an Ambassador and a part of McIntosh BETA Club for 2 years. She was involved in the Student Press Law Center’s New Voices program in 2023 and won a Best of Sno award for her story “The five freedoms in the First,” recapping her experience. Lovejoy has been involved in theater for 2 years and has performed and worked backstage on numerous shows. This year she is serving as the Historian for the McIntosh Thespians Troupe. Lovejoy is eager to meet the new staff and have another successful year on the Trail.
