The 2023-2024 women’s lacrosse season is in play and the varsity team is 5-0 while junior varsity is 1-3.

The girls lacrosse team’s overall record last year was 11-6, and in addition to a new head coach, Dustin Fowler, the team faces another potential challenge.

“Half of the team hasn’t played [lacrosse] before, but everyone has quickly picked up stick skills and rules of the game. Also, I think what’s really helped is that all the girls on the team are becoming close,” said Coach Brian Kagan.

After playing five games of far this season, the team has skills and plays they plan on improving in order to stay undefeated.

“I fully expect that we’ll be able to generate a better offense since our stickhandling is better and we should get a more controlled offense and get more goals as everyone gets tighter and more team bonding to support each other,” said Kagan.

Below is the current game scoring as of March 1:

Varsity

Feb. 8 @ McDonough 20-1 (W)

Feb. 10 @ Lovett 11-9 (W)

Feb. 14 vs SPXC 8-5 (W)

Feb. 27 vs Union Grove 25-0 (W)

Feb. 29 @ East Paulding 24-4 (W)

Feb. 13 @ Northgate 8-7 (W)
