Senior athletes officially commit to colleges on National Signing Day

On National Signing Day, Feb. 7, 2024, McIntosh hosted senior athletes who are signing to a college for their future athletic and academic careers. A total of 13 student athletes signed letters of commitment to colleges and universities ranging from Georgia Tech to Auburn to the U.S. Naval Academy. Both athletes signing for swimming were not able to be present because they were competing at the GHSA State Swim competition.

Asa Boddie
Asa Boddie, Staff
Asa Boddie is a senior and this is his first year on McIntosh Trail. He was recruited by the one and only Shanon Woolf, the advisor. Asa is very passionate about computer science. He has been coding for over 2 years. He also loves teaching and showing others how to work and navigate computer soft and hardware. He is a very wise guy and can teach you how to code and navigate a computer. Asa spends his free time watching live gameplay from content creators. He follows Twitch streamer Kai Cenat because he brings a lot of fun and different experiences to his streams. After graduating from McIntosh, he plans to go to the University of West Georgia or West Georgia Technical College to pursue computer science. He is also pursuing certification in cyber security.
Luke Soule
Luke Soule, Multimedia Editor
Multimedia editor Luke Soule is a senior at McIntosh High School and has returned for his second year on the McIntosh Trail. Soule received an all-georgia and superior award during his first year on the staff as a writer and specializes in writing about film, music and environmental issues. He is also an editor for the Mischief Literary Magazine. Soule enjoys writing poetry and stories and has written multiple screenplays. Music and film are big parts of Soule’s life. He taught himself to play guitar and currently takes music theory and piano lessons. His favorite artists are Death Grips, Gregory Alan Isakov and Hugh Masekela. He also began writing screenplays at the age of 13. His favorite movies are The Master, Swiss Army Man and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. He frequently volunteers at the Fayette Humane Society and Clothes Less Traveled.
Antwon Ware
Antwon Ware, Staff
Antwon Ware is a first year staff member. In his free time, Ware likes to look at cars, play basketball, watch Youtube, talk to friends, cook, work out and eat food. Ware is looking forward to making the McIntosh basketball team and playing for them.
Connor Lafontant
Connor Lafontant is a multi-sport athlete and also a new addition to the McIntosh trail. He was part of the track team at JC Booth and wishes to join here at MHS. He also swims and plays soccer for another rec team in Peachtree City. Lafontant and his 4x1 relay team also got 3rd in the county. Not only does he play sports, he also played the trombone for 3 years. Lafontant is also starting the honor roll. Recently, Lafontant volunteered at a homeless shelter and provided over 14,000 pounds of food for the homeless. He loves to do many things but helping people and giving is his favorite.
