Friday, Jan. 31 varsity boys and girls soccer will be at home in a scrimmage against Walton before the season kicks off against Jonesboro on Tuesday, Feb. 4. Varsity girls will kick off at 6 p.m. followed by varsity boys who are kicking off at 8 p.m.
Both the boys and girls varsity have been practicing since last week and are showing signs of another promising season coming off of being last year’s state champions.
Varsity head coach Casey Kreitner and assistant coach Luke Kreitner selected three seniors to lead the team this year, Skylar Dzenis, Juliana Pickard, and Katelyn Galbraith. “Practices have been going great, we had a strong team last year but with some of the talent we have this year I think teams are going to have a hard time competing against us,” said senior varsity captain Skylar Dzenis.
Varsity head coach “Bunky” Colvin selected senior Luke Giordano to lead the team as a solo captain for the moment
“We have the potential to do amazing things this year and our players want to execute it,” said senior captain Luke Giordano. “The team dynamic this year is great you can tell that players really care for each other and follow our C.R.E.E.D. (Care, Responsibility, Effort, Enthusiasm, and Discipline) Motto.”
