The Chiefs and Lady Chiefs competed at a basketball tournament over Christmas Break. The Lady Chiefs played against Woodland, and the tournament was was held in Stockbridge, Ga.
Freshman Camryn Salaski said of her team, “I love playing with them. They have all been super supportive and we are continuing to grow together as a team.”
In spite of their teamwork, Woodland High School won by 41-36.
Senior Kimmy Edgeworth said, “We have had a slow start this basketball season, although our team is coming along and we are getting stronger. I am excited to see where the hard work and dedication from everyone takes us!”
When the Chiefs traveled to Lagrange High School on December 28-29, they won both of their games. The first game was against Harris County with the final score of 78-47, and the second game was against Stone Mountain with the final score of 63-49.
Sophomore Camerin Lyons said, “I think we’ve [had] a pretty good season so far and we can [go] really far in the state playoffs. Playing at a fast tempo and playing team ball has won us games and we are hard to beat when we keep the ball moving. Also, we keep playing aggressive good defense and win games off defense and ball movement on offense.”
The Chiefs are looking forward to the end of their regular season and preparing for the playoffs.
Senior Garrett LeClaire said, “We need to work hard everyday and stay on the grind. It is just a really fun team and a great group of guys.”
The season is winding down and both teams have only five more games left in the regular season.
