Men’s varsity soccer team takes on Cross Keys and Riverwood High School

The McIntosh men’s varsity team took on Cross Keys on Wednesday, May 3. Cross Keys entered the game with a record of 12-3 while the Chiefs entered with a record of 20-1. At halftime the Chiefs were down 2-1. In the second half Cross Keys scored twice, and McIntosh scored three times. The regular time ended 4-4. In extra time neither team scored, so it went to a penalty kick shootout. In the shootout the Chiefs won 3-2 because Noah Slepika made three saves.
The team took on Riverwood High School in the quarterfinals of the playoffs on Saturday, May 6. Riverwood is the defending state champions from last year. They beat the Chiefs to get to the championship last year. McIntosh won the game 1-0.
Senior Junior Logan Brown said, “I’m really proud of how the team played, and now we have to focus on our next game against Grady. Then, on to the Championship.”
