Freshman Burton Hahn suffered a sternoclavicular sprain while playing on the JV baseball team. Burton was pitching the ball and suffered the injury while throwing. According to ShoulderDoc, “The sternoclavicular joint occurs between the proximal end of the clavicle and the clavicular notch of the manubrium of the sternum together with a small part of the first costal cartilage.”

Burton said, “I was pitching, and I heard my collarbone pop and it hurt really badly. I came out of the game and went to the hospital.”

In addition to missing the rest of the game, Burton also was forced to miss a day of school due to the injury.

Burton said, “It should [require] three weeks of recovery time.”
