Lady Chiefs basketball team takes on Riverdale and Griffin

The Lady Chiefs basketball team entered the week with an 11-2 overall record. The girls took on Riverdale High School on Tuesday, Jan. 10. In the first quarter, they got the early lead, outscoring Riverdale 25-9. They then led for a majority of the game and won 73-27.
The Lady Chiefs also played Griffin High School on Friday, Jan. 13. In the first quarter, Griffin allowed only nine points, finishing the quarter with a 16-9 lead. At halftime, the score was 32-28 with Griffin leading. Griffin won the game 66-46.
The Lady Chiefs improved to 12-3 overall and 3-2 in the region. However, they are now ranked 19 in the state, dropping three spots.
Senior Savannah Soles said, “We executed our game plan well both games, but Griffin played great defense that made it difficult to score.”
