Girls’ varsity soccer team receives #1 team in the state

The Lady Chiefs received word that they are the #1 team in the state. The announcement came on Monday, Feb. 22.

After their first three games against Woodland, Ola, and Columbus, the Lady Chiefs are 3-0. They’ve scored a total of 23 goals and have had 1 goal scored against them.

They beat Woodland 10-0  to start the regular season on Feb. 9. Then, they beat Ola 10-0 on Feb. 12. They then beat Columbus 3-1 on Feb. 18. Due to weather, their game against Whitewater was cancelled on Feb. 23 and has not yet been rescheduled.

The Lady Chiefs’ next game will be at home against Stockbridge at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1.

Freshman Mackensi Rohn said, “The season is looking really good so far. We have a lot of strong dedicated girls with high standards for the team, and we all work really well together.”

Senior Caroline Laux said, “Every day gets more and more challenging, but we’re getting closer and closer to our goal as a team.”
