McIntosh boys varsity team beat the Gainsville varsity team on Friday May 9. They now advance to the semifinal stage of the state championship.
The opening goal started as a fast break caused by senior Nick Alvey forcing one of the defending mid-fielders out of position with quick foot work. Then, Nick faked a shot with his left foot and shot it off of his right foot. Nick’s second goal started as a throw in near the corner of the goal line. Senior Carson Brooks took the throw and managed to throw it all the way to the six yard box where Nick scored off of a header.
Final score was 6-1.
