Track & field competes at Eagle’s Landing
McIntosh track and field traveled to its second meet of the year, the Eagle’s Landing Chick-fil-A Invitational in McDonough on Saturday, March 1.
The girls team placed fifth with 41 points with a strong showing by the distance team. Sophomore Alyssa LeClaire placed second in the mile (5:31) and third in the half mile (2:28). Sophomore Nicole Zaubi won the two mile (12:54) and placed fifth in the mile (5:53). Sophomore Carson Silbert placed fourth in the two mile (14:03). In field events, junior Morgan Frederick won her second high jump of the season by clearing five feet.
The boys team placed seventh with 33 points, also with a strong distance team showing. Senior Taylor Huntley won the mile (4:34) and the half mile (2:00). Senior Josh Reynolds placed fourth in the mile (4:49). Sophomores Brian Doyle and Alan Bowers battled to a dramatic finish in the two mile, placing fourth and fifth place respectively with a time difference of only .01 seconds (11:07.41 & 11:07.42).
