Varsity baseball comes back to win against Newnan
On March 5, the Chiefs faced the Cougars for the second time in three days. The Chiefs had previously beaten the Cougars 8-3 on Monday at Newnan.
The Chiefs gave up three runs after five innings, but during the bottom of the fifth, the Chiefs came back. Dane Bullock hit a single which brought in senior Andrew Johnson, and then junior Josh Ange took advantage of the bases being loaded and hit a triple which brought in two runs and tied the game. Junior Tyler Mowry hit a single that brought in Ange and gave the Chiefs a 4-3 lead.
Senior Trey Walters relieved senior Charlie Goedtke, and Walters closed out the game for the Chiefs.
The next game for the Chiefs will be Friday, March 7 at home against Mt. Zion.
