Chiefs continue their winning streak with big win against Whitewater

On October 11, the McIntosh Chiefs faced the Whitewater Wildcats. The Chiefs, coming off a bye-week, entered this game 5-0, a school best, while the Wildcats entered 5-1.

Most of the first half was a defensive battle led by seniors Jim O’Neill, Jake Carney, and Jabari Ajao, but the Chiefs were able to score first and go into the half leading 7-0.

During the second half, things kept going the Chiefs way except for two big plays that allowed Whitewater to score. The offense, led by seniors Andrew Johnson and Trey Walters, stepped up and was able to score four more times with the help of running backs and wide recieves, Victor Nguyen, Sebastian James, Duke Kinamon, and Sean Ingram.

The game ended with fans cheering for McIntosh beating Whitewater for the first time ever; senior football players started talking about wanting this win for four years, and finally, the dumping of the cooler on head coach, Coach Lee Belknap.

The final score was 35-15, and the Chiefs keep making McIntosh history by becoming 6-0. The Chiefs take on the Starr’s Mill Panthers at Starr’s Mill next week at 7:30.
