With two decades of playing the most popular game in the world, David Beckham finally announced his retirement. After playing with many of the world’s largest clubs, like Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Paris St Germain, and captaining the England national soccer team, Beckham will retire and move on from soccer.
Beckham made the announcement on May 21, 2013.
One thing Beckham will do after retiring is become an ambassador for Chinese soccer, and help get it to become more noticed and popular. He will also work around the world with many organizations like the one in China, as reported by the New York Times.
During his soccer career, Beckham has played over 400 games, has won 10 league championships, and has participated in three world cups. He has also pulled many upsets in soccer history.
Sophomore Nicky Valverde said, “I love David Beckham! It’s so sad that he’s retiring. I’m going to miss seeing his hot bod!” The model player will definately be missed.
