On January 20, the San Francisco 49ners played the Atlanta Falcons, and the Baltimore Ravens played the New England Patriots in hope to Super Bowl XLVII.

After the 49ners upsted the Green Bay Packers , and the Falcons’s quarterback Matt Ryan got his first playoff win, the 49ners faced the Falcons at the Georgia Dome. The Falcons quickly took a 17 point lead, but the Niners came back to win 28-24 with the help of quarterback Colin Kaepernick, running back Frank Gore, and wide receiver Randy Moss. This is the biggest comeback in the NFC Championship history. This is the 49ners sixth trip to the Super Bowl.

The Ravens played the Patriots in New England. After the Patriots led the Ravens 13-7 at the half, Baltimore dominated the rest of the game, scoring three more touchdowns. The Ravens won 28-13. This trip to the Super Bowl is the Ravens second after their 2000 win.

Super Bowl XLVII marks the first time two brothers as head coaches have played each other for the title. John Harbaugh is the head coach for the Ravens while Jim Harbaugh is the head coach for the 49ners.

The two teams will meet on February 3 in New Orleans to play for the Super Bowl title.
