Many people get scammed by saying stuff that should stay private in their life to and they can use that information that user give them. Unknown people mean the people on social media who users think they know, but on the other side of the screen there is maybe someone older than the user of social media, who is using their trust. For example students may just tell them their phone number with first and last name and then they will know enough to do what they need. Most of the time they will ask users for their money, the front and back numbers of the card, or password from a bank account or any social media password so they can text people from the account to ask them to send them some money. Many apps where users can find people that will try to become friends with users of social media. Apps like Snapchat, Instagram, YouTube, Tik Tok, Twitter, Roblox and many others. There is not only a person trying to scam a person. There are many stories where AI is telling people to do very bad stuff that will affect their life.
Many people just do something inappropriate that will affect their future or someone else, for example, texting rude stuff to people in social media thinking that it’s okay and they never see them in their life but a person who reads that text might feel not comfortable and feel sad about things that they read from another person.
WHAT’S WRONG WITH ROBLOX
According to Over 39 million children under the age of 13 are playing Roblox daily around the world, it’s a free game that anyone can download. Also there exists to the [voice chat] which is aloud to people talk to each other in the game.
Certain online activities are designed to keep users playing for as long as possible, and Roblox is one of them. by telling them if they play this game for 30 more minutes they will get a gift and young kids believe this.
The game with a lot of scammers that are trying to become friends with kids. Children don’t even know who is on the other side of the screen thinking it’s one of their online friends who is trying to know more. But scammers know what they are doing and they are just trying to build trust with another kid.
THE RIGHT WAY
But social media can be safe for consumers if users of social media use it in the right way. Social media is not that bad if users of social media don’t text or answer to people who they don’t know or never see in life. If users don’t share personal information like a phone number or address where they live, or where are planning to go, For example: Group of our friend will go to the cafe this night [address of cafe]. Because people who post it don’t know who watches their story and if scammers see it they will go there and try to know them more. Another example is that students don’t send a picture of themselves to someone, because scammers can send these pictures to others and pretend to be that person.
Every time when users of social media take their phone in their free time they spend more than a few hours doing nothing but scrolling.
