Students react to TIME Person of the Year
Dec 13, 2016
TIME Magazine recently released their annual Person of the Year, an “award” that decides on the person who had the greatest influence, for good cause or bad cause, on the year, according to TIME’s official website. This year, president-elect Donald Trump was named Person of the Year because of his pending presidency, as well as for his constant appearances in the American media. Students at McIntosh had varying opinions about TIME giving the honor to Mr. Trump.
Freshman Rishab Kolachina said, “It’s not surprising. Trump is a very good and successful businessman and when a successful businessman becomes president, of course he will be Person of the Year.”
Junior Delaney Baro said, “I really don’t care that he was [named TIME Person of the Year]. It doesn’t really matter to me or really affect me personally.”
Mr. Trump will take office on January 20, 2017.
