When the bell rang on the first day of school, hundreds of new students began their first day as a McIntosh Chief. Now, over four weeks later, freshmen are beginning to get an idea of how the school works, as well as what they think of it.

“I’m surprised that McIntosh provides a lot more freedom than [J.C.] Booth,” said freshman Karsen Vaughan.

Another thing some freshmen have been surprised by is the workload that comes with going to one of the hardest high schools in the nation.

“I like McIntosh because there’s no wasted time in the day,” said freshman Kareena Rampersad.
