The skywalk, constructed in 2015, has been known for its bathroom-like tiled walls. However, recently the school decided to bring some McIntosh spirit to the bland walls: they added stickers, provided by Peachtree Portraits, to the walls in the spaces between the tiles and the ceiling. Despite their valiant efforts, the school missed a crucial tool for placing the stickers correctly: a level. Three of the four stickers are blatantly crooked.

When entering the skywalk from the English hallway, the first sticker one will come across on the left is incredibly crooked. The sticker simply states the name of our school with our emblem below. The second sticker is on the right and explains that McIntosh aims to embrace excellence in their students. Unfortunately, the sticker itself involves no excellence as it is crooked and features a randomly placed wavy dash. The next sticker, also on the right, explains that McIntosh embraces excellence in academics, athletics and the arts. While this sticker is not as obviously crooked, it was already peeling off just a week into the school year. The last sticker is on the left and seems to be the only truly straight sticker and simply states our school name again.

Sophomore Alissa Dannehl said, “It seems like a waste of the school’s time and money, especially considering the stickers aren’t even, well, sticking.” Freshman Abby Cunningham said “Because I am new this year, I do not know what the skywalk looked like prior to the stickers, but I think it was a nice, failed attempt.” Sophomore Will Fincher said, “After the first day of school I stopped using the skywalk because the crooked and peeling stickers only added more stress to my day.” By strolling through the skywalk, one can find many more students who are annoyed with the sticker installation.
