Peachtree City gives off a false atmosphere of safety
Mar 19, 2015
Peachtree City is known as “the bubble” by most of its citizens. It is considered a safe place to raise a family and allow children to obtain an exceptional education. However, some people may have become a little too comfortable with their feelings of safety in the city.
Recently, eighth grader Daniel Fernandez was hospitalized after being seriously injured when a car struck him as he was crossing the street. In Peachtree City, a major accident of this kind isn’t common. Daniel probably never thought he could get hit by an automobile in such a safe place.
Peachtree City gives citizens a false sense of comfort with its high police officer presence and its extremely low crime rates. The idea that citizens here are almost indestructible just because they don’t experience much disaster is dangerous.
The citizens of Peachtree City should still be aware of everyday dangers, such as crossing the street, and take the minute precaution of looking both ways.
