This year, MHS prom is going to be later than usual. Saturday, May 3, is the date and students are already preparing. Girls have begun to buy dresses, and guys have begun to ask their dates. The major question all MHS guys contemplate is this one: When is the best time to ask the girl?

Late February is a good starting point. Depending on whom you’re planning to ask, you may need to jump on it in order to ask first.  Those guys with girlfriends do not need to be in such a hurry because everyone else expects them to go to the prom together. Senior Adam Wayton said, “Never be afraid to ask the girl of your choice. Always go for it.”

Preparing for prom can be a stressful process. Some people find all the hassle not worth it. To me, the chaos of buying a dress, finding a date, and planning your entire night will all be special high school memories.
