The struggle to stay fit is affecting students at McIntosh
As the winter chills set in, I find that it becomes continually harder to train. Senior Josh Mattingly said, “The sun goes down at 5:30 ruling out the possibility to run outside without having to take some light, after homework. But, not running is not an option because only core workouts get very mundane very quickly.” Josh said, “I have to do extra warmups to get ready to workout.”
Sophomore Alex Scherschel said, “I like training for baseball until it gets to winter and cold because indoor training is the worst.”
Freshman Hannah Easter said, “I hate winter; I get so out of shape then, and its cold.”
Freshman Dylan Dodge said, “I got hurt trying to train for wrestling.”
Winter is a injury prone time because it gets cold and many athletes don’t truly warm up enough to avoid injury.
