McIntosh students suffer from “summeritis”

Savannah Massingill, Staff Writer

It’s that time of year again. The last few weeks of school. Everyone is excited about the ending of the school year and this may just be the reason students will begin to slack off.

The last few weeks of school always seem to be the most pointless. Students begin to slack off on homework and assignments because there seems to be no point. I mean, why would we bother giving our all when our grades are practically sealed? Of course there are some reasons to continue to work our hardest, such as trying to get our grades high enough for an exam exemption, but our laziness usually  tends to overpower our weak will to work.

Students are suffering from more than just a lack of will to turn in their homework too. It’s hard enough to even get out of bed in the mornings. Of course we have to go to school but, let’s be honest, some of those days, our beds hold us hostage and we just can’t seem to get up. On the days we do actually make it out of bed, we’d much rather throw on some Nike shorts and a sweater than a nice dress and some heels. Sure it’s not as stylish but it’s a lot more comfortable.

All I can say is that school is almost over, so try to get through with good grades and get ready for the summer because we only have a few days left.
