Tome Society is a nonprofit book club for students from second to 12th grade where they read and discuss books, participate in both virtual and in person literacy events and play in literacy based competitions, including the Tome Reading Bowl. The Tome Reading Bowl is a digital team competition where students take multiple choice exams throughout the year based on books in the Tome book Award List. This year, those books include “Of Jade and Dragons,” “The Art of Us,” “The Light in Hidden Places” and “Looking for Smoke.”
Junior Marlee Rafter and sophomore Surin Lee have secured third place in the state Tome Reading Bowl competition against 35 other high school teams.
Marlee and Surin both read 20 novels from the list this year along with participating in three rounds of competitive testing to earn that spot.
