McIntosh Students are invited to participate in a trip to Italy and Greece sponsored by WorldStrides on May 26, 2026 to June 4, 2026. Students will get the chance to see Venice and Athens and the trip has a planned Itinerary that includes hands-on activities and authentic cuisine. U.S. History Teacher Dallas Reagan is administering the trip.
“It’s ten days in Europe. We are flying from Atlanta to Venice, Italy. We’re going to start in Venice. We’re going to bus from Venice to Florence. We’re going to fly from Rome to Athens, Greece, and then we’ll come back to Atlanta,” Reagan said.
A meeting took place on Dec. 10 to give parents and students more detailed information. Parents and students were able to get information for payment options, the guided tour, and how students can earn high school and college credits. There is a link to the trip’s information and there is a tab to sign up for the trip. The link also allows parents and students to get email updates about the trip by clicking “I’m Interested.” Students are now able to sign up to get an early enrollment discount of their total trip price. The last day to get this discount is Dec.17.
“A link has been emailed out [to parents and students,] you follow the directions, it prompts you to sign up and activate there’s an account, and it’s on a website called WorldStrides. That’s the company we are using for the trip,” Reagan said.
WorldStrides is a company that provides elementary, middle and high schools to go on educational trips around the globe and also provides study abroad programs for college students. WorldStrides’ philosophy, LEAP, stands for Learning through Exploration and Active Participation. The company promotes hands-on learning experiences and allows students to learn problem-solving skills, maturity and independence that help their success in the future.
“It’s program advertises it as an experiential classroom. You know, world history, studying these civilizations, the Romans, the Greeks, there’s only so much you can do in the classroom,” Reagan said.
WorldStrides is working in partnership with George Mason University and students that go on the trip can apply to receive college course credit.
“Especially for anybody that wants to study something in international studies or political science or history, something related to the humanities. It really could be beneficial to whatever degree they end up pursuing,” Reagan said.
