In a press release from city government, Peachtree City partners with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) to host a town hall meeting on April 16. GDOT officials will be on hand to answer questions about the upcoming displaced left turn (DLT) project at the intersection of SR-54 and SR-74. The hour-long meeting will take place at Evergreen Church, 400 Windgate Road, Peachtree City, and the public can RSVP by https://www.eventbrite.com/e/gdot-town-hall-tickets-878301983877

A DLT intersection allows left turns and through traffic to flow simultaneously by removing left turns from the main intersection. Left turners cross opposing lanes at a signalized area beforehand, then use a parallel lane to complete the turn with the main traffic flow.

GDOT has already completed two DLTs in the City of Snellville and Dawson County.

The DLT intersection in Peachtree City is expected to be completed by 2026, according to GDOT.

The town hall will also be streamed live on Peachtree City’s YouTube channel:  https://www.youtube.com/@peachtreecitygeorgia/

Those with questions about the project are asked to submit them in advance to [email protected].
