The McIntosh High School Math Team placed First in Division III (large schools) at the Regional High School Math Contest hosted by the Griffin Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA) on January 25.
The contest is a regional competition among high schools in the Griffin RESA region which consists of the following school systems: Butts, Fayette, Henry, Lamar, Newton, Pike, Spalding and Upson. More than 21 high schools and 105 students participated, and the MHS team won their division against teams from Ola High School and Dutchtown High School.
Students from Fayette County schools swept the individual winners, with senior Vedita Sawhney placing first over all competitors and Harsh Singh placed third overall, with a student from Starr’s Mill High School taking second overall. Other team members were Patrick Ogle, Nate Miller and Roshan Kolachina.
