Email from Ms. Walls to Parents and students

Zara Morgan, Managing Editor/Features Editor

Dear CHIEFS Family,

I need you to partner with us. There is a current challenge being circulated on the social media app Tik Tok encouraging students to destroy or steal school property, and post about it on social media platforms. Because of this viral trend, we have had our soap dispensers stolen, hand sanitizing stations destroyed, and bathrooms vandalized. I can not express how disappointed I am in our Chiefs. I know we can do better.

School and county-level staff work hard to ensure that our buildings are safe, clean, and healthy spaces for our students and staff. Please talk with your students. Shutting down bathrooms and eliminating bookbags will be our next steps if this trend continues. Destroying, defacing, or stealing school items is a felony. If a student is caught destroying, defacing, or stealing on our campus, there will be a school suspension, full restitution, and possible criminal charges brought by local law enforcement. These actions limit access and create disruptions within our learning environment. Please have a conversation with your student about the impact of vandalism, the theft of school items, and the serious consequences associated with these acts. Also, if they see something, they need to say something.

I love our McIntosh community and I need your help protecting it so that we can get back to the business of making good things happen for our students. Together, we can help our teens realize the true impact of their actions on their community. Thank you for your help in addressing this situation. I appreciate all that you do to support our work.

GO CHIEFS!
