How to stay active during quarantine

How to stay active during quarantine

Although Georgia has not yet issued a statewide stay at home order, many families are taking it upon themselves to stay inside during the coronavirus epidemic in an effort to minimize the spread of the virus.

Here are some ways to entertain yourself while inside for hours on end (after you’ve done your school work, of course).

  1. Cook something

Videos from chefs like Gordon Ramsay are widely available on YouTube showing how to make certain foods. Try it out yourself! Take advantage of this time at home and learn a new skill, such as cooking.

2. Find a new hobby
Whether it’s knitting, making music, playing some kind of indoor sport or game, or whatever else you choose to do to occupy your time, find something you enjoy doing and that you can do without the companionship of others. Don’t let this time go to waste-there are always new things to learn about yourself, so do it!

3. Exercise

Just because you’re at home doesn’t mean you cannot exercise. If you have access to something like a treadmill, use it! Doctors have also said that is should be OK to go outside and run as long as you aren’t coming within six feet of other people. Do pushups, play basketball in your driveway, or even go walking. Just do something to move your body during this period of isolation.

Hopefully by following this advice, your time indoors won’t drive you to the point of insanity.
