McIntosh Trail, McIntosh’s print newspaper, received the top rating of “Superior” from the Georgia Scholastic Press Association (GSPA) for school year 2016-2017. The spring competition is sponsored by Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia.

According to GSPA, a “Superior” rating indicates that “the staff clearly demonstrated excellence in all areas of scholastic journalism in this publication.”

In addition to this award, seniors Jackson Fuentes and Cameron Stephens received a “Superior” rating for their Dec. 13 Opposing Viewpoints Column where they highlighted the pros and cons of the Electoral College system.

The last print issue for the year comes out on May 18, the seniors’ last regular school day.
