Upcoming winter forecasted to be colder than average

As the weather begins to cool down a bit, and we begin the process of transitioning from short sleeves to long sleeves and sweaters, it’s hard not to think about what this winter might bring to McIntosh after last year’s absolutely crazy winter.

Fortunately, this question can now be answered as the National Weather Service released their annual predictions for winter.  This year the National Weather Service (NWS) has predicted temperatures in the Atlanta area along with most of the southeast to be slightly below average with precipitation amounts running slightly above average.  It means that we shouldn’t expect a winter as bad as last year, but we should expect a winter with more snow than usual.

Senior Ally Cox said, “I love that it will be cold this winter; however only, until Christmas and through January do I actually enjoy the cold.  Then after that I’m ready for some spring weather and warmer temperatures.”
